Rain

Would Noah please row the Ark around to the front door. Here in Washington we are having a run on rain. It's been steady now for 24 or more days without let up. Roads are washing out, rivers flooding their banks and hillsides sliding away closing roads and disrupting rail service to Seattle and south. My creek out back is trying to flood the neighbor. 15 ft and rising as Johnny Cash would sing....

I started the first of the wedding quilts this past week. One block down and many, many more to go. I'm not sure about these blues and greens way to many darks. I don't want this quilt to look angry. A wedding quilt should be happy.

Pictures, pictures and more pictures. My backyard has always been a sanctuary for all kinds of animals from the birds to the raccoons. Last summer this big boy visited while we were all standing in the yard. One of a group or is that herd that comes by frequently.

What else do you have planned to go with that star? If you go super scrappy - "A ton of differnt blues and a ton of differetn greens" it will mellow out - the pastel influence, the "nature aspect", the cool feel.....

When you get that far - a narrow red border (1 inch-ish) would add a ZING to the cool quilt.

Just trying to say - don't give up based on 1 block.

To me the star is shining in the dark! I agree with Amy . make more before you quit , you can always add other fabrics :c)

Give the darks a chance! Add some lighter blues and greens to a few other blocks and it's amazing how it'll all come together and not look too dark for a wedding quilt!

Looks like you've got a great cheering section for continuing on, Dona. I'd have to agree with each of them, too!

About the rains...hubby and I are always saying "What's going on these days?" I don't remember the weather being as peculiar as it has been the past few years, do you? And it's everywhere!

Mr. Deer is a beauty, isn't he. They are fun to watch around here too...but can often make a mess of things in a hurry.
